Jean-Marc Brocard

Burgundy, France

Founded in 1974, Jean-Marc Brocard is among the most respected family-owned estates in Chablis, renowned for its dedication to nature and authentic expression of terroir. The story began when Jean-Marc, born into a family of farmers in the Côte d’Or, married into a winemaking family in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux. Under the mentorship of vigneron Louis Petit, he learned to respect the land and the natural rhythm of the vines.

In 1973, he planted his first vineyard in Préhy and built the winery that would become Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard. His son, Julien, joined in 1995 after studying engineering, bringing renewed energy and a strong belief in biodynamics. By 1997, he began applying biodynamic practices to the Domaine de la Boissonneuse, marking a new chapter for the estate.

Today, the Brocard family cultivates one of the most diverse vineyards in Chablis using organic and biodynamic methods. Their wines are celebrated for their purity, precision, and sense of place—true reflections of Chablis’ limestone soils and the family’s enduring respect for nature.
